So, what is the secret to big results? What is the secret behind my client's big transformation stories?
What allows people to see more results with more speed and more ease?
I'll tell you.. It is regulating your nervous system and learning how to do it and I know that doesn't sound sexy, but honestly, when you get this, everything changes and becomes easier and you just start to feel better.
Learning to regulate your nervous system is something that I do as a holistic nutritionist, but is really unique to my practice and is so foundational. What you eat matters, but if your nervous system is chronically stressed, if you are in a chronic, sympathetic nervous state, you won't see the results you want to see.
So, I'm talking about how we do that and what that looks like because when you get this, everything changes.
This is an area that for me has been big. It's been hard to do and I'm constantly working on it.
But honestly, when I changed this, everything changed.

We are kicking off a new series and this series is going to be exciting!
I'm going to share both the science and the sacred practices that are going to transform your health and give you results with more speed and more ease.
It's all about your body being a temple and blending the science and this holistic approach to your body.
Your body is a temple. Well, is it, is it really? And what does that actually mean? What does that look like on a Monday morning?
This is something I do really naturally and I'm really good at, but I know from working with so many people that a lot of the time we might have this idea that our body is a temple, but really we have no practical grounding for that. We don't know how to ground that into daily practical action.
I could also call this series the how to sort out your nervous system series because essentially that is a little bit of what we're talking about, but I'm gonna be sharing some of my more personal and vulnerable stories and look at what I know to be true.
And that is that your body is a temple. It is divine. It's not just flesh and bone. There's mind, body, soul, and yes, the food that you eat matters, but the reason you make those food choices is:
- because of these soul connections.
- because of these beliefs.
- because of these thoughts about how valuable and how precious your life is.
- because you know your uniqueness and you can own that.
You know the role that you have here and you know that you're precious and that you're cared for and worthy. So, of course, you're going to eat in a way that aligns with that.
That is a really different approach to ‘I really shouldn't eat gluten’
You know? Do you feel how different the energy is? Kezia said ‘I shouldn't eat sugar’ versus ‘I am a temple. I have been filled with creative life and spirit and soul’ (whatever your beliefs or religious beliefs or non religious beliefs are, are all welcome here.).
‘I am this precious divine child of God, here uniquely on this earth at this time to be and do unique and glorious and beautiful and simple and small things.’
Of course, I'm gonna make food choices based on that. Of course, I'm going to eat in a way that supports that. It's a really different approach.

I have decided that I'll be running an in person luxury Scottish retreat at the end of this year in probably in November (I'm still ironing out the details)
It's going to be called ‘The SHIFT Retreat’
It will be a really small intimate, powerful group, with completely homemade organic food. It will be about the integration of this way of looking at a whole person approach of this science and the holistic approach and the sacred approach and the practices.

Why despite your best efforts and a healthy-ish life is stuff not working? Why are you not seeing results? Why are you feeling stuck?

In this week's episode, I'm talking about how to deal with low motivation, feeling sluggish and tired and this tension that happens when you really want something and you really are clear on the goal that you have yet, you cannot seem to do anything to actually get there or maintain anything.
Then you just end up in this cyclical dieting loop knowing what you want but, but it's all very on and off.
Specifically with this client's story that I'm sharing with you today, we're looking at body fat, body recomposition and low motivation and we're also talking about man, Ooh, whoa. Let's dive in.

Today, we are talking about what happens when you actually do eat a really healthy whole food diet and you're trying to exercise, you're aware of mindfulness, you eat, when you keep a food diary, it kind of looks not perfect, but pretty good yet your symptoms are getting worse.
In this case study, this particular client's eczema was getting worse and worse.
She was getting more and more tired, she was still having gut issues, she had anxiety but she was eating probably healthier than most people around her.
So, what's the deal?
This is a common problem and this is really where a holistic approach shines because the food that you eat is super important
I'm a nutritionist and yes, if you work with me, we're going to implement nutritional science because food is so powerful, but it is not the only answer. Your body is a complex system.
It's an ecosystem with lots of stuff going on and the food that you eat is a massive input, but actually it's not just about what you eat.
- It's about what you digest.
- It's about your nervous system.
- It's about your sleep quality.
- It's about your nutrient status.
These things all play a role.
So, yes, food is super important, but you can still be struggling, your symptoms can be getting worse, you could be feeling terrible, but still eating whatever you think is a healthy diet and following healthy guidelines.
Or you might be eating healthy whole foods, but it's not healthy for you.
You might be eating a healthy whole food, plant-based diet, and it's making you sick.
You might be eating a whole food, Ketogenic diet and it might be making you sicker because this isn't about applying a formula or whatever formula is the most popular/most blogged about or Instagrammed about.
It isn't what's going to help you see results.
What is going to help you see results is figuring out how to eat in a way that serves you, your body, your biology, your life, your gut health, your hormones, your genetics, and that is something that you're not going to find on a Google search.
So, that's what we're diving into in this episode. I hope you're enjoying these stories. The reason I'm sharing these with you is because these are stories of hope.
There is often this assumption that in order to create change in your health/body and to feel good that you have to muster up loads of energy, self-control and self-discipline and that you have to change everything / It's this massive project / It's a complete overhaul / It's all or nothing. But all of that is total BS.
You don't need loads of self control.
You don't need to overhaul every single item in your life.
Sometimes with some clients, we do overhaul a lot, depending on where they're at. For example, I've had clients come to me that basically eat sugar and alcohol and carbs. That's their diet so for them it is a big overhaul.
We’ll introduce protein, deal with the sugar addiction, and address alcohol consumption.
But most of the people I work with, we're not totally overhauling their diet.
Whereas most of the time we actually make little tweaks here and there that can just make the world of difference,
When you are strategic and you know what the key problems are, you actually can do less stuff, take less action yet, see more results than you've seen in the past year, 2 years, 3 years or 10 years, because the action you are taking is really articulate and it's actually solving the right problem.

Today, on the podcast, we are talking poop and bowel incontinence, constant daily reflux and embarrassing wind.
This is part two of my case study series and I'm talking about a specific client who had a whole lot of stuff going on but on paper actually had a really healthy lifestyle, ate really well and had drawers full of supplements. They felt embarrassed and really limited and came to me after trying a million different things and working with a lot of different people and having already done a lot of tests.
During our 3-4 month program together, she saw incredible progress. She was hoping things would improve, but she didn't expect stuff to just resolve itself completely.
I'm going to dive into why that is, what was different about her approach, what she did and about the strategy I applied so that you can do the same in your own life.
Like why was it that she made progress and, and also why wasn't this really healthy lifestyle that she was living?
I’ll look at why this healthy lifestyle wasn’t helping and why she wasn’t making progress? Because I know from talking with lots of you and my clients that you aren't sitting there eating donuts all day, or putting 10 spoonfuls of sugar in your tea or deep frying everything - You probably eat a whole food-ish diet and you probably know people that eat more unhealthily than you do yet, you are the one who feels like you're having symptoms than them and struggling with your health.
I remember feeling like that years ago and wondering why I was the one that felt awful when I had so many friends that eat utter crap all the time and they're doing fine yet, there I was trying to be healthy but I was the one who felt worse. It's a very frustrating place to be and this was the same for this client.
So, let’s dive in.

In today's episode, we are going to be looking at how you deal with chronic pain, anxiety, awful periods, bad sleep, even when everything is “normal” and even when you've done all the tests and no one can figure out what's wrong with you.
We are diving into the beginning of a new series over the next month or so where I dive into one of my client case studies. I'm going to be sharing what we did, what actions they took, what actually helped them, so that you can gain some real, actionable, tangible information from what we did with them, because some of what applied to them may apply to you.
You will hear more about what a holistic process looks like so that you can have hope and you can actually see that there is something else available for you.
Even just in the last few weeks, I have had two conversations with new clients where they ended our first session together and they said ‘oh my goodness. I have so much more hope now and I just feel like I'm not going to be stuck feeling awful’ - So often we are so used to tolerating feeling rubbish.
For example, if you've got low energy and IBS issues and you have that on a day-to-day basis, that becomes your normal. So, it's almost like we can't even imagine that changing and we don't even want to sometimes because it's too disappointing because we think that the change might not happen.
So, I want to share these stories in this series with you because they're all really different people, at really different stages of their lives - ages, genders and health issues and they all realised that they don't want to keep feeling like this and that they do have more power than they realise.
They came and worked with me and I've seen phenomenal shifts. All of these people also were hesitant about working with me from a cost perspective and all of them have said that it was totally worth the investment in terms of money and time.
I know that I personally love to hear real life stories and it's also easy for you to listen to this podcast and think that it isn’t going to work for you but if you can actually hear some totally different real people with real s**t going on in their lives and actually how they, without being perfect, without needing to do all the things they saw change and transformation.
I know that this will give you hope! I also want to gently shake up your perspective on this. Things CAN change. This is your one precious, beautiful, glorious life and you deserve to feel good!
Today I'l be talking about a client who was in chronic pain, had lots of anxiety, poor sleep, awful periods, lots of stress and just a lot going on.
She deserves to feel good, you know? And she knew that she didn't always know that, but she became aware that this was her one life - She didn't want to be anxious, in pain and saying no to everything, not doing anything and having zero confidence.
I want to just give a gentle Kezia-like shake, kick up the bum in a highly empathetic, understanding fashion.
I really get how hard this is and I really hope that you feel my heart. There's never any judgment here.

Welcome to this week's episode where I am talking about my latest gut microbiome test results and walking you through why I ran this test, what the test is, what it means, what my results are and what I'm doing about it.
I talk about the gut microbiome all the time on the podcast because it's so foundational. This episode is a deep dive into your gut microbiome and a practical approach to what you can actually do about it.
I'm spilling all the beans of what practical steps you can take and how we can gather information and be really empowered about our gut health because the better your gut microbiome is, the better your immune system, hormone balance, your skin, sleep, mental health, mood and cognitive function and performance will be. I could go on and on with this list.
In the last 30 years, the research on the gut microbiome has been really in-depth so we know so much more than we used to, but we actually don't know how to apply it because this is new (ish) in terms of what we know about the body.
So, I want to share with you all the information about my gut microbiome and the stool test that I ran recently (lucky you) and what it means.
There's some good stuff and there's some ugly stuff going on which is why I ran this test in the first place - You might think, okay, this is the nutritionist talking, she runs the Gut Goddess Show, her gut microbiome must be amazing It's not but it's better than it used to be.
I can tell you that the gut microbiome is like a garden. It requires tending to. When you have the right information, it's actually really simple. - At the end of this episode, I'll share my action plan with you.
The reason I am sharing this is because I know that if you can improve your gut microbiome, everyone benefits. You benefit, your systems benefit, from a preventative perspective your longevity benefits. Other people benefit because it affects your mood. It affects your brain. It affects your mental health.
You feeling better. You optimising and improving the things that you can influence and impact is obviously an incredible benefit to you. It's also a gift and an active service to those around you.
Most of the time, people would never want to invest in private tests like this because there's not tests available in the NHS, in the UK or are always done privately (So, you need to pay for them) Most people would never invest because they think it’s unnecessary, or it feels selfish to improve their health, or it feels uncomfortable.
But when you actually realise that you, the state of your brain, health, body, systems, hormones really obviously affects you, but it also affects everyone around you, investing your money and your time into your health actually becomes the least selfish thing you can do.
It's actually a really wise investment.
So, if you do one thing to work on your health in the next year, work on your gut microbiome and your insulin management. Those are actually two key foundational things for you to feel good now, in terms of impacting your mental health, your hormones, your skin, your sleep, but also from a preventative perspective, because yes, I want you to feel good now, but I also want to feel really good when you're 80.
I want you to be like that granny, who's gardening and doing yoga in her garden. Someone who is a really well, older person.
